Privacy Policy
SwipeBlue collects app users’ data (name, phone number, and matched voter file information).
SwipeBlue asks a user’s permission in the app to temporarily access their contact data in order to match their contacts to the public voter file to check if they are registered to vote, in which districts, and with which political party.
Swipeblue does not store any data from the initial contact matching process. We only pass it through a secure connection to a one-time match query against the public voter files.
When a user swipes on a contact in order to send that person a message, SwipeBlue saves the swiped contact’s information (name, phone number, and matched voter file information) so that it may be shared with the partner organization or campaign that is leading the outreach (if applicable), which is determined by whether the user has inputted a partner code.
Partner organizations are only permitted to use this data to support their campaign efforts this cycle. All partners must agree to these terms:
You may only use Swipe data to accomplish the goals of your campaign such as membership recruitment, voter registration, voter education, or turnout
You must promptly process all unsubscribe requests
You may not use Swipe data for commercial purposes like selling products or services
You may not sell or swap Swipe data
SwipeBlue never sells your data or shares with any entity other than the relevant Partner leading the campaign, if applicable.
If a user specifically opts in to a study to improve SwipeBlue performance, SwipeBlue will store their contacts only for the time needed to complete the study.
If a user specifically opts in to a manual matching campaign, SwipeBlue will store the user's manual matches to improve our data sources.
